How It Works

We do multiple sourcing runs per week — Goodwill outlet locations (pay-by-the-pound), thrift store racks, estate sales, and curated online lots. We’re looking for athletic and activewear from brands that hold up: Nike, Lululemon, Adidas, Champion, New Balance, Patagonia, Under Armour, Reebok, and similar. We pass on anything too far gone. We pick up everything that still has life in it.

Before anything gets listed, every item is washed with fragrance-free detergent, inspected for flaws, authenticated by brand, and graded using our three-tier condition system. We never hide flaws — if something has a mark or a sign of its history, we describe it and photograph it directly. What you see is exactly what you get.

Pieces that are ready go straight to photography. Pieces with potential — a faded hoodie that could be overdyed, a long tee better as a crop, a plain piece that needs a signature detail — go to our rework station. Every reworked item is a SportyStar original design. Available once. Gone forever when it sells.

Every item gets a minimum of four photos: a flat-lay on a neutral background, an on-body or styled shot, a brand tag closeup, and a detail or flaw shot. We write every listing ourselves — brand, condition, measurements, flaw disclosures, and a styling tip. New drops go live every Friday.

Orders ship within 48 hours via USPS from Austin, Texas. Standard delivery is 3–5 business days. We pack everything carefully — we want your piece to arrive the way we’d want to receive something we bought secondhand.
