SportyStar started the way most good things do — with a genuine obsession and a bad habit.
We kept walking past the same racks at Goodwill. Vintage Nike hoodies. Lululemon leggings in perfect condition. Adidas track jackets from the early 2000s that nobody was buying because they looked a little rough around the edges. We’d think: someone should do something with these. Then we realized — we were someone.
So we started pulling pieces from local thrift stores, cleaning them up, and giving them a second chance. Some we list as-is. Others we alter and rework into something new.
That’s SportyStar. We’re a small, Austin-based operation obsessed with circular fashion — specifically the kind that lives at the intersection of athletic performance and vintage character. Every piece in our shop was sourced by hand, washed and graded by us, photographed in house, and shipped from our door.
There are no warehouses. No algorithms picking inventory. No fast fashion. Just us, the bins, and a genuine love for the kind of activewear that was built to last — and deserves to be worn again.

The rework difference
Some pieces come out of the bins already perfect. Others have potential that just needs unlocking. When we rework something, we’re not hiding what it is. We’re honoring it. Every reworked piece in our shop is a SportyStar original, and every one is one-of-one.
